A predictive dialer uses pacing algorithms to dial more numbers than there are available reps, predicting when an agent will free up. It maximizes agent talk time in large call centers but carries the highest abandoned-call and TCPA risk of any dialing mode.
Predictive dialers were built for big contact centers where squeezing every second of agent talk time matters. The algorithm dials ahead of agent availability and routes the answers it expects agents to be ready for. When the prediction is off, calls get abandoned.
For B2B sales teams, predictive dialing is usually overkill and a compliance liability. A power dialer gives reps more control and a cleaner caller experience while still removing the manual dialing.
